The North West Livestock Development Fund, CDENO, has carried out a mass distribution of livestock inputs to farmers of the North West Region. The mass distribution exercise took place on September 25, 2026, at the premises of CDENO in Bamenda, under the distinguished patronage of the Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique.
The farm inputs compromised 30,000 day old chicks, 100 piglets, and 5,350 bags of animal feed.
Speaking at the distribution exercise, the Director of CDENO, Mbah Shupong Michael said the exercise was in line with the goals set for CDENO when the structure was created. The goals, he said, included assisting livestock farmers in the North West Region with livestock infrastructure, animal health protection, capacity building, and animal production.
The Director said the exercise was aimed at intensifying partnership between the livestock farmers and CDENO; and increase production and productivity of poultry, piggery, and dairy sectors in the North West Region and Cameroon in general.
According to Mbah Shupong, the government largesse, through CDENO, came in the month of September, a time considered peak period for brooding, to permit farmers market their products during end of year festivities in December.
The Director of CDENO described the event as special, due to its inclusive nature. He said persons with disabilities succeeded to empower themselves through the inputs of last year. He noted that the hard work and commitment of persons with disabilities has pushed CDENO to continue to encourage them to live up to the maxim that “disability is not inability.”
