Four PLF African Kings have emerged in the finals that showcased the best fighters in the Continent. It all happened in the Republic of Benin which played host to a historic night of mixed martial arts as the Professional Fighters League, PFL Africa season concluded with the crowning of four inaugural tournament champions.
The PFL Africa Finals showcased the continent’s rising MMA talent, with fighters from South Africa, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau seizing championship glory.
The evening was headlined by a masterclass performance from South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele, who knocked out Angola’s Boule Godogo to secure the first-ever PFL Africa Bantamweight crown.
Guinea-Bissau’s Yabna N’Tchala overcame adversity to claim the Welterweight crown against Angola’s Shido Boris Esperança (10-2). Esperança dominated early with grappling, but N’Tchala rallied in the third round with punishing punches and elbows. Exhausted, Esperança was unable to continue into the fourth round, giving N’Tchala the TKO victory.
In the Heavyweight, Ivory Coast’s Abraham Bably stunned the crowd with a lightning-fast knockout of South Africa’s Justin Clarke. Just 21 seconds into round one, Bably’s right hook followed by a barrage of left hands sealed his place as the inaugural Heavyweight Champion.
Nigeria’s Wasi Adeshina battled back from a shaky first round to defeat Cameroonian Alain Majorique. Adeshina’s striking opened a severe cut over Majorique’s left eye, forcing a doctor stoppage in round two and crowning Adeshina the Featherweight Champion.
In addition to the tournament fights were seven showcase bouts featuring rising stars from across the continent as the event not only crowned champions but also underscored Africa’s growing influence in the global MMA scene.
By establishing these foundational champions, the PFL has created a clear pathway for African athletes to transition from regional dominance to the global stage, solidifying the league’s footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing MMA markets.
