Edison Fru Ndi, Chief Executive Officer of Dreamland Connect Plc, who doubles as the North West Regional Delegate of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts, has been knighted with the highest traditional title of “Tantoh” in the Nkwen Fondon. The title of Tantoh literally means, Assistant to the Fondom. The title was conferred to the erudite business magnate, severally referred to by all and sundry as the living hope of the North West Region and the Last Man Standing by His Royal Highness Fon Azehfor III of Nkwen. It was in recognition of his contributions to community development, youth empowerment and infrastructure development in the North West Region.
The honour was bestowed on Edison Fru Ndi on Friday, July 31, 2026, during the provisional reception of the Mutan Market by the Executive President of the North West Regional Assembly, Prof. Fru Angwafo, at the Industrial Zone in Bamenda III. Announcing the decision, Fon Azehfor III said the title followed consultations with the Kwifon and the Fon of Mankon, describing it as the highest traditional honour the Nkwen Fondom can confer. He presented Edison Fru Ndi with the royal red feather, symbolizing his new status within the Fondom.
The monarch said the recognition was based on his record of nation-building, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship, as well as his role in delivering the Mutan Market project, which is expected to transform commercial activities in the area. Fon Azehfor III praised the Dreamland Connect CEO for creating employment opportunities for young people through his businesses, including Dreamland Snack and Dreamland Restaurant, and for engaging local youths during the construction of the Mutan Market.
He also commended Edison Fru Ndi for supporting aspiring entrepreneurs across the Fondom, describing him as “a true example of an illustrious elite” whose efforts have contributed to improving livelihoods in the community. Receiving the honour, Edison Fru Ndi expressed gratitude to the Nkwen Palace, saying he was deeply humbled by the recognition. “I am honoured and very delighted to have been given such a prestigious title from the Nkwen Fondom,” he said. He pledged to continue supporting community development, saying giving back and empowering others had always been central to his values. “It is a way of life for me to give back to the community. Giving, transforming lives, and empowering my community are what motivate me,” he said, adding that he never expected his efforts would earn such a traditional distinction. The contractor, businessman, and North West Regional Delegate of the Chamber of Commerce said his greatest satisfaction comes from seeing people’s lives improve through the opportunities created by his work.
The traditional honour came on the same day Dreamland Connect formally handed over the 410 million FCFA Mutan Market project to the North West Regional Assembly, a facility expected to become the cornerstone of a wider regional trade and logistics hub aimed at boosting commerce, investment and employment in the North West Region.
