H.E. Paul Biya, President of Cameroon and wife, Mrs. Chantal Biya on Sunday September 21, 2025 embarked on a private visit to Europe. The visit is coming few days ahead of the launching of campaigns for the October 12, Presidential Election. According to the electoral law, campaigns for the October 12, 2025 Presidential Election will officially kick-off on September 27, 2025. Incumbent President Paul Biya is a candidate for the October 12, 2025 Presidential Election. Ahead of his short private visit to Europe, his critics had said the Head of State was not in good form. However, Paul Biya appeared robust in public at the Nsimalen International Airport where he gave instructions to his immediate collaborators before taking off. He was accompanied by Mr. Samuel Mvondo Ayolo, Minister, Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency, Vice Admiral Joseph Fouda, who is Special Adviser to the President of the Republic and Simon Bikele, Chief of State Protocol.
Prior to the public appearance on Sunday, September 21, 2025, H.E .Paul Biya was seen on television at the Unity Palace on September 19, 2025 discussing military cooperation with General Dagvin Anderson, commander of U.S. Africa Command, AFRICOM. Their discussion focused on on reinforcing military partnership in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin.
