When Tradition Yearns For Peace, Wisdom, Inspiration: The Case Of HRM Albert Njie Mbonde At Sir Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle Award Gallery

by Lucas Chefor

Tuesday, March 17, 2026 will remain indelible in the minds of the important delegation of notables of Membea-Bokwaongo Village that accompanied their traditional ruler, HRM, Albert Njie Mbonde to the Sir Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle Award Gallery in Douala. It was everything except a surprise to HRM Njie Mbonde, an ace journalist and long-time friend of Sir Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, who over the years have been in the news for his indefatigable fight against corruption, moral decadence, and most importantly, crusading for peace nationally and internationally. Little wonder, HRM Albert Njie Mbonde quipped after the visit, “Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle is a good friend of mine. It is an old age story. I know what he does. I know what he had done. I know what he can continue to do for our nation, and especially the youths. I think having this gallery was just the right thing to do, in order to immortalise what he has being doing over the years, and make it a good testimony of what great minds can do.”

In the line of others, including diplomats, civil society personalities, lawyers and people of all walks of life who have visited and highly appreciated the Sir Ntumfor barrister Nico Halle Award gallery, HRM Albert Njie Mbonde added that, “I think this award gallery is important to our nation which is in quest of its values, many of which have been lost. The peace we used to enjoy is being threatened, so too is the unity and social cohesion, for which, for a very long time we stood as models. In this environment of ours, we need role models, people who can still stand as the torchbearers of what we fundamentally represent as a nation. A nation which is a mosaic of culture, but where people live in harmony and love one another.”

Prior to visiting the award gallery, HRM Njie Mbonde’s delegation of notables hobnobbed with Sir Barrister Nico Halle in his guest room where not only pleasantries were shared, but issues relating to peaceful co-existence and peace. HRM Albert Njie Mbonde said he came visiting, and not alone as Sir Ntumfor’s friend, but with his notable, so each could also get inspired.
