The Cameroon-Australia Alumni Association, CAM3A, and the Cameroon branch of Women in Leadership Network have both picked new executives. The election of the new executives of both structures constituted the high-point of a one-day general assembly that held in Hotels dés Députés, Yaounde, on Saturday June 13, 2026. Prior to the election proper, members of CAM3A held a series of discussions on diverse topics. They reviewed the activities of CAM3A for the past years in a bid to assess the milestones covered and the challenges faced.
In the panel discussions that ensued, Mr. Mbon Richard talked on the paradigm shift towards developing climate resilient infrastructure in response to climate change in Cameroon. Meanwhile, Dr. Ntsomboh Godswill elaborated on debunking Myths and embracing the true value of palm oil for sustainable development. There were also discussions on the CAM3A women in Leadership Network and the Pan African Women in Leadership Council.
In the elections that followed the discussions of the 2026 CAM3A AGM, Dr. Rogers Nditanchou was elected President, while Georges Tenny Ngu grabbed the post of Vice President. Yasmine Aliou was elected Secretary General, Pr. Kenneth Mbene picked the post of Treasurer while Dr Sharon Negsang was elected Financial Secretary. Mercy Chefor is the Public Relations Officer and Dr. Eni Mbuagbaw is Adviser. The Ex-officio members who form part of advisers are: Dr. Valentine Nchinda, Dr Eric Ngang and Dr. Rodrigue Fotie. These newly elected officials will see the destiny of CAM3A for the next two years.
The heated election of the Cameroon branch of Women in Leadership Network propelled Besong Alice to the post of President and Mafouasson Hortense as Vice President. The post of Secretary General went to Ikfi Miranda. The Financial Secretary post was won by Chefor Mercy and the Treasurer by Omgba Balbine. Meanwhile, Dr Negsang Sharon, Muna Eninwi and Aloumba Eveline were picked as Advisers.
It is worthy to recall that the Cameroon-Australia Alumni Association is a not-for-profit organisation that saw the light of day in Cameroon in 2015. It was put in place by some Australia Awards for African Returnees and aims at bringing together the Australia alumni in Cameroon to invest their knowledge and skills acquired during their studies in Australia for the inclusive development of Cameroon. Consequently, the main goal of CAM3A is to promote a people-to-people relationship between Australia and Cameroon academia and industry.
