Cameroon’s Minister of Youth Affairs Honours Local Radio Station For Promoting Vocational Trainings

Mounouna Foutsou, Cameroon’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, who doubles as interim Minister of Employment and Vocational Training on August 26, 2025 presented an excellence award to the authorities of Radio Hot Cocoa, a local radio station based in Bamenda, in the North West Region of Cameroon. Radio Hot Cocoa, an FM radio that broadcast on FM 94.0 in Bamenda and its environs was awarded by the minister for their outstanding community service. The Excellence Award was personally handed to the station manager Muma Jude Awa by the minister in the presence of local authorities and communication stakeholders.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the North West media family, Awa acknowledged that this recognition marks a milestone, as the media has never been honored in such a way before. He dedicated the award to CEO Che Bangang Ade, the dedicated staff, and loyal listeners who have contributed to the radio’s success. Established in 2002 by Mr. Nteh-Alah Achu Ade, Radio Hot Cocoa has become a leading private commercial media outlet in the North West Region. Initially founded as Radio Hot Coffee, the station changed its name to Radio Hot Coco in 2006. Known for its vibrant slogan, “The Station that stimulates and vibrates,” Radio Hot Cocoa has a legacy of nurturing media professionals and serving the community with selflessness, earning it a massive following of hundreds of thousands of listeners.
